The round cut of the diamond was created in the 1600s by the Venetian cutter Vincenzo Peruzzi and modified in 1916 by Marcel Tolkowski. The brilliant round cut is, among the various types, the most classic and widespread. It is composed of 57 facets: 33 in the upper part (table and crown) and 24 in the pavilion, furthermore, there is a so-called 58th facet at the end of the pavilion, which constitutes the meeting point of all the others.
It is considered the perfect cut for its proportions, for its polishing and for its symmetry which give maximum luster and brilliance. A symbol of purity and eternity, the diamond crosses the centuries preserving its inestimable beauty.
